PORTSMOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL FEB 2010

Our lovely adult groups took part in Portsmouth dance competition for the first time.

When they first arrived they all wanted to kill me..... but i think they all enjoyed it in the end! They did so well & got 1st place with the tap group & the adjudicator said they had the

'wow factor' haha & 2nd place with the Jazz group.

After they danced we all went out for a meal & they did a second performance in the restaurant, which the waiters loved!!!

Congrats ladies you were all FAB & I hope that you don't all turn into DIVA'S now x

Also a huge Congratulations to the 13 & over modern group 'Geeks' who came 1st with 90 marks, soooo proud.

The adults won a trophy for their Tap group, the 13 & over modern group won a trophy for their dance & i also won the choreography trophy for the 3rd year in a row!! hehe well done all xxx

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who took part PAD & SJ Academy you all danced your socks off!

'Geeks' got a Special Commendation in the 15 & under modern groups & Imi got 2nd place in the

14 year old tap section. 

SJ Academy won 1 Gold & 4 Silver medals well done girls & boys what a huge achievment everyone xxx

'LA BOUTIQUE FANTASTIC' 9TH, 10TH & 11TH JULY 2009

Well done everyone who took part you are all stars. The feedback has been brilliant & lots of comments on how much the standard has gone up, so lets all keep up the hard work in September so the next one will be even better!

GRADUATES 2009  

Laura Bristow - Auditioned & was given places at Performers College & Masters Performing Arts. She will be taking the place at Masters with a scholarship starting in september.

Sarah Jones - Auditioned & was given places at Performers College & Laine Theatre Arts. She will be taking the place at Laines doing a 3 year musical theatre course starting in September.

Bethany Town - Auditioned at Deborah Capon Dance College & was given a place & will be starting in september.

Rebecca Jeetoo - Will be going to Kent University in Canterbury to study Drama.

Flora Marston - will be going to Exeter University to study Drama.

Also Ex pupils:

Monique Young - was offered Scholarships to Laine Theatre Arts & Tring Park & a place at Arts Educational. She will be taking the place at Tring Park in September.

Mari Colbert - has just been given a place at the London Contemporary School where she will start in September.

We are all so proud of you girls & can't wait to come & see your first shows, good luck & keep in touch x

ALL ENGLAND REGIONAL FINALS MAY 2009

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 15 & UNDER MODERN GROUP

THEY GAINED AN HONOURS MARK & ARE GOING TO THE NATIONAL FINALS IN LONDON!!!

Also a huge Congratulations to the Dolls from SJ Academy Of Dance who are also going the finals!!!

Our 9 & Under Modern Group performed at the Petersfield Business Awards & I have had great feedback from everyone about them & I love the pic in 'Life in Petersfield' Magazine!

ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 21st MARCH 2009

A huge congratulations to all of our students that competed, our 15 & under modern group won the section & a trophy with 88 marks, our 12 & under group got 2nd place with 85 marks & our 9 & unders got 1st place with 83 marks. It was the first time the 12 & 9 & unders have ever done a competition & only the 2nd time competing for the 15 & unders so what a huge achievement. Well done everyone & thank you to all the parents for taking them over for the day.

CHICHESTER DANCE FESTIVAL FEBRUARY 2009

Well done to the girls who danced. Lily Smith, Daisy Metcalf & Imi Weatherhead came 1st in their tap trio, Lily 2nd & Imi 3rd in their tap solo's & Imi 3rd with her song & dance. Also a special mention to Emma Young pictured to the left who danced a modern solo for the first time.

WORTHING DANCE FESTIVAL SUNDAY 23RD NOV 2008

We entered our first group at a competition at the Pavillion Theatre in Worthing. I would like to congratulate them for putting on a great performance i am very proud of them all. It was most of their first times performing at a festival and we had some nerves but we got 4th place with 86 marks. The adjudicator said the standard of the groups was the best she has ever seen & i would have to agree with her, so they did really well and will be even better next  time won't you 'Geeks'!! he he
