Well done to Susannah Udall, Issy Fernandez from PAD & Evie Wateridge from SJAD who travelled to ISTD2 in London on Sunday 8th January to demonstrate the new Grade 4 Tap Syllabus for all the Theatre Faculties Examiners.

Special mention to Susannah who has never even taken a Tap exam before x

WORLD TAP CHAMPIONSHIPS NOV/DEC 2011

Congratulations to Immy, Lucy, Olivia from PAD & Saffi, Brooke & Libby for SJAD (all pictured opposite) who have just returned from the world tap dancing championships in Germany where they were part of Tap Attacks England team. Immy, Lucy, Saf & Brooke 3rd place for the adult formation groups, Olivia & Libby ranked 7th for junior mini groups, Immy & Saffi ranked 5th & Libby 3rd place for junior tap duets, well done girls, what an amazing achievment!

I watched from a live internet feed & felt so proud of our girls......some of the friday tap classes even got to watch some as we had it playing during lessons as we did not want to miss them.

ROYAL VARIETY SHOW DECEMBER 2011

Look out for ex student Sarah Jones who is now currently in her 3rd year at Laine Theatre Arts, as she will be performing on the Royal Variety show with the West End cast of 'Singing in the Rain', Go SJ xxx  

ISTD Teachers Summer School August 2011

Evie from SJAD & Olivia & Issy from PAD took part in mock exams for teachers to watch so they could see how the exam should run. They had a great time & said all the teachers feedback was so positive & that they were a very enthusiatic audience for them to dance in front of. I'm sure the girls felt no pressure dancing in front lots of teachers & examiners.............well done

ALL ENGLAND FINALS JULY/AUGUST 2011

Well done to SJAD everyone performed so well. A total of 30 + dances qualified for the finals which is an amazing achievement, at the finals 1 gold Medal, 3 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals & 6 Special Commendations were won. Well done x

ENGLISH YOUTH BALLET 2011

Well done to Isabella Fernandez & Bethan Thomas who auditioned for the English Youth Ballet production of 'The Nutcracker' & were both offered places, Issy has been awarded a scholarship for this. Fantastic news, well done girls x 

TAP ATTACK AUDITIONS

MARJORIE DAVIES TAP AWARDS - 27TH MARCH 2011

Well done to all the 8 girls who were selected from PAD & SJAD to represent the schools, this is a very prestigious Tap competition held in London where people travel from all over the country to compete.

Our juniors were Issy, Olivia, Brooke, Amelia & Libby. Amelia won the class prize & Issy & Libby were given Special Commendations. In the Premiere section we had Immy, Saffi & Amber. Immy's dance which was choreographed by Jo Scanlan (Tap Attack) won the best choreographed dance & Saf's dance was given a special mention along with Olivia's by the judges as dances they liked the choreography for.

Well done everyone you all danced beautifully xxx

IOW FESTIVAL MARCH 2011

Well done to our new 9 & 12 & under modern groups who both got 3rd place. Also well done SJAD who got 2nd place in the 12 & modern groups & 1st with their tap & song group.

Well done to Issy & Olivia who danced tap solo's for the first time, they both danced beautifully & you would not have known it was their first time, Issy came 3rd & Olivia came 4th & they have both now qualified for the regional finals, well done girls x

Modequins gained first place & Trophy winners with 89 Marks, Zombies were 4th with 86 marks & Immy came 2nd in her tap solo with 89 marks, well done all!

PORTSMOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL FEB 2011

Well Done PAD Ladies 1st place & Trophy winners with their Jazz routine to 'Think' also what a great performance our Irish 'Stavros Flatley' Tap number gave, the audience loved it......so funny. You are all such DIVA's, I love it!

Well done to PAD & SJAD for the groups great performances. We have now qualified all 8 groups for the regional finals, well done everyone.

IMOGEN WEATHERHEAD ON 'GOT TO DANCE' ON SKY 1

We would like to say a huge congratulations to Tap Attack who were given 3 gold stars from the judges: Adam Garcia, Ashley Banjo & Kimberly Wyatt.

Miss Hayley & myself were in the audience watching & they gave an amazing performance with so much energy & attack from each member of the team. They didn't reach the finals but what a wonderful experience they must of all had.

We are very proud of our student Imogen Weatherhead who is part of the team & we would like to thank everyone from PAD who voted for them, it must of been close!

One of our very talented students Imogen represented England at the World Tap Championships as part of 'Tap Attacks' England Team. I watched the team dance on a live feed & they were amazing. Imogen came 11th (in the world) for her solo & their formation group dance won them a Silver Medal. The England team won 11 trophies in total, Well done Immy we are all so proud of you x

PORTSMOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL FEB 2010

Our lovely adult groups took part in Portsmouth dance competition for the first time.

When they first arrived they all wanted to kill me..... but i think they all enjoyed it in the end! They did so well & got 1st place with the tap group & the adjudicator said they had the

'wow factor' haha & 2nd place with the Jazz group.

After they danced we all went out for a meal & they did a second performance in the restaurant, which the waiters loved!!!

Congrats ladies you were all FAB & I hope that you don't all turn into DIVA'S now x

Also a huge Congratulations to the 13 & over modern group 'Geeks' who came 1st with 90 marks, soooo proud.

The adults won a trophy for their Tap group, the 13 & over modern group won a trophy for their dance & i also won the choreography trophy for the 3rd year in a row!! hehe well done all xxx

Laura Bristow - Auditioned & was given places at Performers College & Masters Performing Arts. She will be taking the place at Masters with a scholarship starting in september.

Sarah Jones - Auditioned & was given places at Performers College & Laine Theatre Arts. She will be taking the place at Laines doing a 3 year musical theatre course starting in September.

Bethany Town - Auditioned at Deborah Capon Dance College & was given a place & will be starting in september.

Rebecca Jeetoo - Will be going to Kent University in Canterbury to study Drama.

Flora Marston - will be going to Exeter University to study Drama.

ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 21st MARCH 2009

A huge congratulations to all of our students that competed, our 15 & under modern group won the section & a trophy with 88 marks, our 12 & under group got 2nd place with 85 marks & our 9 & unders got 1st place with 83 marks. It was the first time the 12 & 9 & unders have ever done a competition & only the 2nd time competing for the 15 & unders so what a huge achievement. Well done everyone & thank you to all the parents for taking them over for the day.

WORTHING DANCE FESTIVAL SUNDAY 23RD NOV 2008

We entered our first group at a competition at the Pavillion Theatre in Worthing. I would like to congratulate them for putting on a great performance i am very proud of them all. It was most of their first times performing at a festival and we had some nerves but we got 4th place with 86 marks. The adjudicator said the standard of the groups was the best she has ever seen & i would have to agree with her, so they did really well and will be even better next  time won't you 'Geeks'!! he he
